Q&A ERP (Pty) Ltd is an accredited Business Partner of various software vendors, software developers and 3rd party applications. One such vendor is Sage Pastel South Africa and itself is a subsidiary of the Sage Group plc. Sage, by which we mean both Sage Pastel and the Sage Group as a whole, is the company that develops the Sage Evolution ERP software purchased by the customer, where Sage itself does not deploy solutions and implement software for its customers.

Q&A ERP (Pty) Ltd [Q&A ERP] is employed directly by the customers of Sage, and not by Sage itself, for the express purpose of implementing and supporting the Sage Evolution software. Any bugs and defects in the software are dealt with legally within the Sage Software Agreement, which is an agreement between the Customer and Sage. Such defects are not the responsibility of Q&A ERP Solutions. However, Q&A as the ERP solutions service provider will assist the customer in addressing bugs and defects within Sage Evolution at standard service rates contained in the current Q&A ERP Solutions rate card.

The same principle applies to all suppliers and vendors of
Q&A Marketing Limited or Q&A ERP (Pty) Ltd or the trading name Skilful Pursuit.

It should be understood that the purpose of an upgrade is to install a more up-to-date version of the software onto the customer’s computer(s) to avail them of new features and functionality within the product. Unfortunately, this process can sometimes introduce bugs or corrupt data and is why our Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) has been evolved to step through an extensive backup-restore-test-upgrade process.

These risks are genuine for the Business Intelligence Centre/Sage Intelligence Reporting (BIC/SIR) module because an upgrade may break some reports. It can occur after an upgrade because new functionality has been added and old functionality has been removed. Therefore, each report must be tested, carefully checked and signed by the customer before, during and after an upgrade. Any reports adversely affected by the upgrade may need to be amended or completely redesigned in a worst-case scenario. The cost of such work is in addition to Q&A ERP’s usual support and implementation fees and will be separately quoted and performed sometime after the upgrade.
